The 12-point website checklist every Irish gym should pass

Run your current site through this list. If you fail more than three, you're leaking memberships every month.

Short answer

Run your current site through this list. If you fail more than three, you're leaking memberships every month.

Why most gym websites underperform

A gym website has one job: turn someone who is curious at 10pm into a member by 10:05pm. Most Irish gym sites fail because they were built as brochures, not as sign-up machines.

The pattern is consistent — a hero image, an 'About Us' paragraph, a contact form nobody answers until Monday, and a phone number. Every step adds friction, and friction is why your competitor with a worse gym has more members.

The 12 checks

1. Loads in under one second on 4G. 2. Pricing visible without emailing anyone. 3. Timetable on the site, not a PDF. 4. Join online without human contact. 5. Mobile navigation usable one-handed. 6. Google Business Profile claimed and complete. 7. Opening hours correct in three places at once. 8. Real photos of your actual gym. 9. Reviews shown on the page, not just on Google. 10. LocalBusiness schema markup present. 11. A page per location or service you offer. 12. An enquiry that reaches a phone, not an inbox nobody checks.

What to fix first

Start with speed and online joining. Those two changes move revenue faster than a redesign. Everything else compounds behind them.
