The three price bands
Below €500 you are buying a template setup — fine for a personal trainer with one service and no booking. Between €500 and €1,500 you should get a custom design, real local SEO, payments and booking. Above €3,000 you are paying agency overhead, and in Ireland that rarely buys a better outcome for a single-site gym or studio.
What actually costs money
Design and build is the visible cost. The ones operators forget: booking logic with capacity and buffers, Stripe setup and testing, migrating existing member data, photography, and the Google Business Profile work that decides whether anyone finds the site at all.
Running costs in Ireland
Hosting for a well-built site runs roughly €5 to €15 a month. A .ie domain is around €10 to €15 a year. Stripe takes its standard percentage per transaction. That should be the complete list — if a quote adds a monthly licence on top, you are renting your own website.
Judge on payback, not price
A €997 build that adds two members a month pays for itself before the quarter ends. A €300 site that nobody finds costs you every enquiry it fails to capture. Ask any prospective builder what the site is expected to change, and how they will measure it.
